Note: This writeup was created for West Bath School, but if you replace "WestBath" with the school it should work fine for you. If you have an old, non-functioning installation of the printer, you *must* delete the old printer first. Whether or not you have previously printed to the TeacherCopier, you should also (re)-install the printer driver software.

Step 1: Deleting the old printer
Go to:
Click the "-" icon at the bottom of the list on the left
Step 2: Installing the Printer Driver SoftwareApple->SystemPreferences->Print&Fax
Select the printer in the list on the leftClick the "-" icon at the bottom of the list on the left
Whether or not you have previously printer to the TeacherCopier, you should begin by (re)-installing the printer driver software.
Connect to FreeParking on the West Bath Server using either your username and password or by selecting "Guest" (which does not require a username and password).
Find the file called "eStudio850.dmg" (not .exe) and double-click it. This will put a virtual disk on your desktop called "Toshiba e-Studio 850/853 Series" and it should automatically open a window with the package "Toshiba e-Studio 850/853 Series.pkg" showing. If not, double-click "Toshiba e-Studio 850/853 Series" on your desktop.
Double-click "Toshiba e-Studio 850/853 Series.pkg" to start the installation and complete the installation by accepting all the default presented.
When you are finished, you may drag "Toshiba e-Studio 850/853 Series" to the trash to eject it.

Click "Add"
"TeacherCopier" should now appear in the printer list. Select it and click the "Show Info" icon at the top.
In the window that appears, select "Name & Location" from the pull-down list. You may leave the Name and Location as they are, or change them to whatever suits you. This is strictly for your reference.

Step 3: Connecting to the Printer
Go to:
Start->ControlPanel->Printers&Faxes
Find the icon for "Toshiba e-Studio 850 PCL6". If there are other versions listed (e.g. "PSL3"), delete those first to avoid confusion.
Right-Click on the icon and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
In the General tab, name the copier anything you want (e.g. West Bath Teacher's Room)
In the "Ports" tab, click "Add Port".
Select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "New Port".
When the wizard comes up, click Next.
In the "Printer Name or IP Address box, enter either the name or address of the printer (e.g. "TeacherCopier.westbath.u47.k12.me.us, or 172.17.249.2).
The "Port Name" line should auto-fill-in, leave it as it is and click Next.
In the next screen, leave "Standard Generic Network Card" as default and click Next.
In the final screen, click "Finish".
Close the wizard.
Select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "New Port".
When the wizard comes up, click Next.
In the "Printer Name or IP Address box, enter either the name or address of the printer (e.g. "TeacherCopier.westbath.u47.k12.me.us, or 172.17.249.2).
The "Port Name" line should auto-fill-in, leave it as it is and click Next.
In the next screen, leave "Standard Generic Network Card" as default and click Next.
In the final screen, click "Finish".
Close the wizard.
In the "Configuration" tab, set:

Return to the "General" tab and click "Print Test Page".
Click "OK" and close out of the current windows
Double-click the printer to open the queue and ensure your Test Page prints properly (it will dissappear from queue)

When you File->Print a document, select the copier as named from the list of availabe printers.
To use advanced functions (two-sided, hole-punch, staple), click "Preferences". There are lots of options to choose from, and you'll just have to try them to get the advanced result you want. It would be best to "play test" on single page printouts to avoid having a 100 page document end up in the recycle bin because the staple was in the wrong place!
