NWEA

NWEA Suggested Best Practices:

Prior to Testing:
  • Review how to solve common problems.
  • Have every student use their laptops to launch NWEA to catch problems early.
  • Talk to students to stress the importance of the test and good testing behavior.
  • Prepare an activity for those who finish early.
  • Have scrap paper for the math sections.
  • Every student should have at least 90 minutes of charge on their battery.

During Testing
  • Have everyone start at the same time.
  • Call (443-8253) or e-mail (helpdesk@rsu1.org) the helpdesk if you problems.
  • Require students to be quiet for the entire test (like with any test) and respect that yourself.
  • Students may not use any electronic devices (except their computers) during the test. This includes music players, phones and calculators. A calculator will appear on screen for the appropriate questions.
  • No electronic devices (including computers) may be used once a student has completed the test.

After Testing
  • Spend some time with the results to improve your teaching
  • Review the review the results with individual students.
